The 1979 Sun Soccercards set, yes it is called Soccercards was the largest set ever produced. One thousand to be exact, this massive set is broken down in to several sub categories, like best strikers, defenders and so forth. I'm a complete set collector and builder, so after my initial find of one card, I immediatley began hunting down the other 999 cards. I would really to sell and swap my duplicates, if any of you cyber footballers are interested please contact me. The picture on this post represents four on the finest footballers of all-time and just 1/250 of this awesome and complicated set.
Actually, this was not the largest card set ever issued. About 1921/22 or so, Godfrey Phillips Ltd. of England issued a set of approximately 2,400 cards under the name "Pinnace." These cards were actual photos of the players of the day. Check out some of the card websites.
